Another excellent meal Driving from Newcastle to Cockermouth JUST to have lunch somewhere may seem excessive (or arguably crazy), but it's testament to how good the food is here. Today's lunch was Patates Kavurma followed by Beyti Sarma, washed down with Efes Draught - and it was well worth the journey.

Great food and service. Great staff, felt very welcome. Food was brilliant. 3 mixtures of starters and 2 mains, plus a desert and we were very full!

Superb in every way Without doubt, the best food I've eaten. From start to finish this was a superb experience - great staff, very friendly owner, and the food was just WOW. I can thoroughly recommend the Mixed Kebab, and I'll definitely be driving back from Newcastle to have another. This restaurant thoroughly deserves it's No.1 TripAdvisor position in Cockermouth.

Very enjoyable visit My wife and I booed in for a meal last night (Saturday night) not having been here for a number of years. We had a very enjoyable visit, the Staff were very friendly , and attentive but not intrusive and the restaurant was clearly covid conscious with its operations. The food was excellent. We had starters, a main meal and a shared sweet all very tasty. Totally recommend Aspava for a meal but I'd recommend booking in advance as all the tables were booked up during our visit.

Delicious Unfortunately you’re not allowed to write a one word review…if I was, it would be DELICIOUS. Booked a table for two, quiet lunchtime. Maitre de was friendly, polite, attentive. Great service. Restaurant was spotlessly clean, you can easily see the chefs in the kitchen. Food was delicious. Couldn’t pick a fault. Great vegetarian kebabs…great spiced lamb kebabs. Feta filo rolls are a must. Portion size was generous. Wish we hadn’t decided to visit on the last day of our break…would have been much better on the first day so we could have hurried back to try some more dishes!

Little Gem Aspava is a fantastic find, located down a cobbled alley and across a lovely little courtyard off the main road in town. You might not expect to find an incredible Turkish meal in Cockermouth but that's exactly what's on offer. We've been here three times now when visiting family in Cumbria, and it's well worth the journey. The staff are very friendly and informative, more than willing to recommend dishes, and the kitchen is open from the smaller room in the restaurant so you can really see, hear and smell the preparation of your meal. The portions are incredibly generous, the flavour is sensational and every time we've been we've come away feeling extremely satisfied. I've tried something new each visit, I rarely order the same thing twice when visiting places like this because I want to experience as much of the menu as I can! But we always come back to the same pudding - the sütlaç. It's a baked sort of rice pudding served cold... I hate the tinned rice pudding variety, but the sütlaç has converted me entirely! The whole menu is always highly praised by everyone else when they comment on what they ordered. Oh, and the wine is excellent. Find this restaurant and keep it going. Take your family and friends!

Wow amazing We visited this week and had sharing platter for four with addition lamb chops , great value at £100 for 4 people. Lamb was the standout of the dish with the dips and bread/rice , even had kidneys which I normally don’t like but cooked and paired with Turkish spice and herbs was lovely. Porretti on tap and Turkish wine was very good recommended by the waiter. Lovely feel and experience all round, my new favourite in Cockermouth.
